FLIGHT DATA GATHERING
FLIGHT DATA GATHERING
Aeroset Services
Flight data acquisition
- Instrumentation planning (with partners for more complex aircraft)
- Provision of test pilots and flight test engineers
- Test manoeuvre list preparation (if not provided by the customer)
- Measurement parameter identification (if not provided by the customer)
- Post-processing of data (to the degree required by the customer)
Flight test campaign management
We’re glad to deal with operational aspects like
Securing airspace and accommodation during the campaign
- Finding maintenance organizations
Taking care of instrumentation (instrumentation planning for the first phase is done with external partners)
Taking care of approvals for the instrumentation installation
Aircraft lease contracting
Engineering Support
Through in-house capabilities and industry contacts, AEROSET is able to offer simple to complex metallic and composite part testing services, avionics integrations support, and Computational Fluid Dynamics analysis to cover all your needs in aeronautical engineering.

SimD Support
EASA has recently introduced a regulation that requires aircraft OEMs to incorporate validation source data as well as an approved validation data roadmap (VDR) in the type certificate. AEROSET is capable of fulfilling the needs to either incorporate the data in the initial type certificate or issue a new STC in the course of new development projects.
Ultralight / Light Sport Aircraft / CS-23 flight testing and certification
support for initial or supplemental type certificate (STC)
We can help aircraft manufacturers certify their products, from preparing certification structural load test plans and reports, to preparing instrumentation plans, to certification flight test planning and reporting, to executing them with a CAT1 test pilot. For customers working on an STC – Supplemental Type Certificate – for an existing aircraft, we can also provide help with flight testing. We offer services for nearly every kind of aircraft (glider, single engine, multi engine, piston engine, jet engine, aerobatic aircraft), either on our own or through partnerships.
SOME OF MANY PROJECTS
WE’VE COMPLETED
SOME OF MANY PROJECTS WE’VE COMPLETED
UPRT / Stall Update XLS / XLS+ / CJ1+
The existing CJ1+ / Citation XLS and Citation XLS+ simulators needed to be updated to Full Stall Capabilities. For this we developed a plan to perform flight tests in the stall regime of the aircraft. Both aircraft were rented for a couple of days, instrumented and flown by test pilots to AEROSET specifications. The stall model was updated thereafter to closely correlate to the measured data. Finally, the test pilot who performed the actual stall tests on the aircraft evaluated the model on the respective FFS and gave his subjective approval, which was backed up by the objective data. In 2021, the update was EASA qualified as Full / Post Stall-capable.
CL650 / CL350
The flight test campaign for a Bombardier Challenger CL650 and CL350 was prepared, executed and post-processed in AEROSET hands. The preparation included aircraft procurement, parameter specification, test point generation, MRO and DOA coordination as well as the execution of the flight test campaigns. The test campaigns were performed in Europe in 2022 and 2023. Data post-processing (post calibration, parameter derivation) as well as model development were performed in-house. Qualification for the FFS is expected to be finalised in 2023 and 2024.
King Air C90
The flight test campaign for a King Air C90 is currently in progress. Similar to the CL650 / CL350, Aeroset has the lead over the project, taking care of aircraft procurement, parameter and test point specification, flight test lead as well as MRO and DOA coordination. The flight test campaign will be conducted in Germany and Romania and the resulting data will be turned in to Level D compliant models and validation source data during 2023 and 2024.
XLS, XLS+, CJ1+
Flight test campaign were performed by external partners to AEROSET specifications. The resulting models were integrated, fine-tuned and qualified to EASA FFS Level D (2013 & 2019) as well as FAA Part 60 Level D (2015) Criteria.
